It is the primary purpose of the Windsor Warlocks Minor Lacrosse Associations House League program for all players to have fun, learn and grow and develop in the sport of Lacrosse. It is the desire of the W.M.L.A. to be recognized as a leading and dynamic Lacrosse Association. And the to this is based on the success of out House League program.

 

HOUSE LEAGUE PLAYING RULES and COACHING REQUIREMENTS

 

  1. All Canadian Lacrosse Association (CLA) playing rules will apply to all House League games if not deemed in these rules.
  2. Except for the Paperweight division, the rules of play will be governed by the latest Official Rules of Box Lacrosse as issued by the CLA, except as noted below and in section 1 Penalties.
  3. All players must be registered with Windsor Warlocks Minor Lacrosse Assocition and registration fees paid in full before they are allowed to participate in any sanctioned House League games or other W.M.L.A activities.
  4. It is the responsibility of the WMLA to provide each House League team with one set of team jerseys, goaltending equipment and a sufficient number of Lacrosse balls for each scheduled house league game.
  5. The coaches of each House League team are responsible for all equipment belonging to WMLA that is made available for use to them.  All association equipment must be returned to the WMLA at the conclusion of the House League Season, unless specific arrangements have been made with the Equipment Director. Each House League team is responsible for any additional it deems necessary for its own use.  The coaches of each House League team is responsible for the care of all Team Jerseys, Equipment bags and Lacrosse Balls. 
  6. All Players on the playing surface, player's bench and penalty box area must wear required protective equipment during all warm-ups and game play.  CSA approved helmets with full-face cages, properly fastening chin straps and mouth guards are mandatory for all players at all times during any games and/or practices.  All goaltenders must also wear an approved throat protector.  Players wearing Jewelry will not be permitted on the playing surface.  Jewelry shall consist of rings, necklaces, watches, earings etc.  Medic Alert Jewelry is accepted.   
  7. It is the policy of WMLA and a requirement that all House League coaches provide equitable time to all players during House League games including Playoffs.
  8. Every attempt will be made to match players of equal Playing ablity.
  9. The play-off series will consist of semi-finals and finals competition.  All teams in all age divisions will compete in the playoffs.
  10. Less than six players dressed for a House League game will result in a forfeiture of that game, for that team.  No House League game shall be cancelled or postponed without the agreement of both the coaches and the House League Director.
  11. Any and all official protests for any House League game shall be submitted in writing to the House League Director within forty-eight hours of the start of the disputed game.  The decision of the Executive/Board of Directors is binding and must deal with that protest within twenty-four hours of receiving it.
  12. One Paperweight coach from each team will be allowed on the floor during all regular and Play-off games.
  13. I - All games will be allocated one hour of floor time.  All games will be three fifteen-minute periods of running time.  II - The 30 second shot clock will be used in each division except TYKE and PAPERWEIGHT.  III - The five - second passing rule will be in effect for all divisions except for TYKE and PAPERWEIGHT.
  14. All players, coaches, minor officials and spectators are to behave in a sportsmenlike manner at all times.  The use of  profane language and/or indecent gestures by any player, coach, minor official will not be tolerated and may be grounds for suspension and/or dissmisal.  Abuse of any official by any player, coach or spectator will not be tolerated and will also be grounds for suspension and/or dismissal.  Spectators who are abusive to any player, coach, minor official or referee or otherwise unruly WILL be ejected from the arena.

  

      HOUSE LEAGUE PENALTIES   
 

 All CLA playing rules will be in effect except where deemed in these House League Penalties below.

  1. The five-second passing rule will be in effect from Tyke through Intermediate.
  2. All players that receive five minor penalites within one game (not including 10 minute misconduct) shall automatically be expelled from the remainder of that game.
  3. Any player or coach using profane language or indecent gestures during or immediately following a House League game will be assessed a two minute minor penalty plus a Game Misconduct or Gross Misconduct penalty.   A  Referees Special Incident Report will be writtten, and given to the Referee-In-Chief for Discipline Committee Review.
  4. Any player (s) who are penalized for fighting or attempt to injure shall automatically receive a Game Misconduct penalty.  Any such incident requires a Referees Special Incident Report to be written.  The offending player(s) will be suspended from further play until a review of the incident has been completed.  The Vice President, House League Director and the Referee-In-Chief will conduct the review, within seven days. 
  5. Any player(s) that receive a Game Misconduct penalty (other than five minor penalties, not including a 10 minute misconduct) in the last period of a game or immediately following a game will miss their next regular House League game.
